Frequency Converter for Motorized Spindle Units

When selcting a drive, its current output should be over-rated by +20% for an S6 duty-cycle, and + 50% for an S1 duty-cycle, beyond the maximum draw of the motor. With frequency regulated drives, system speed governs the selction process. For optimal speed regulation, select drives with a higher frequency output than required, to minimize noise (wow and flutter), with smaller, more advantageous filtering network.

The UKF-Spindle Units type series DHF are equipped with asynchronous- and the type series DHF-PE with synchronous motors. As a standard converter for the series of DHF and DHF-PE the Siemens SINAMICS® S120 multi-axis converter system is intended. The allocation of the spindle with the corresponding power modul is on request.
